Edwina Sulimirski is an Australian trained physiotherapist with over 26 years of clinical experience in outpatient private practice. She has worked for extended periods of time in Australia, the UK and the USA. Her experience and training across three continents has provided her with a wide range of treatment philosophies. She was offered a postgraduate scholarship in Sports Physiotherapy from the Australian Institute of Sport early in her career where she was exposed to some of the best sports medical minds in high performance sports in the country. This insight into the training environment of some of Australia’s best athletes gave Edwina exceptional skills and experience unavailable to most therapists. She completed her Sports level 3 course which represents the pinnacle of sports titling in Australia. It provides the information and tools necessary for career progression to the peak of Sports Physiotherapy in Australia. She has traveled around Australia with the Men’s National Hockey League and has worked with the Australian Netball Team.

After leaving Australia, she worked in London in a variety of private practices treating dancers from the West End Musicals including Cats, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Chicago. She has worked in private practice in both London and New York for several years. Her exposure to different treatment approaches between three countries has equipped her with a variety of skills and techniques, thus broadening her outlook on how to provide the best service possible.

Edwina’s Masters in Manipulative Therapy (1998, Perth, Western Australia) equips her with the highest level of knowledge, skill and clinical competencies in musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice. As a result of completing this world-renowned degree, she has advanced patient examination and treatment skills, high-level clinical communication and reasoning skills and the latest evidence-based patient management approaches. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT), a national organization committed to excellence in orthopedic manual physical therapy practice, education and research.

Her Australian undergraduate and postgraduate training has meant she is highly trained in the Maitland Concept. Other postgraduate courses she has taken include those by Diane Lee, Brian Mulligan, Kinetic Control, Gravity Fit by Carolyn Richardson, Peter O’Sullivan and the McKenzie Institute to name a few. Her work has been particularly influenced by Jenny McConnell and her revolutionary approach to the treatment of patellofemoral pain. After years of suffering from low back discomfort, Edwina has become highly skilled in the treatment of spinal pain. Three pregnancies has helped her outlook and appreciation of pelvic pain in women. As a mother of three, she understands the demands of pregnancy, breastfeeding and post partum recovery on the female body and uses this knowledge to help new mothers recover to their best potential post delivery.

Edwina is highly involved in the Bronxville school community and understands the athletic and scholastic demands experienced here. Starting her own business has allowed her to provide patients with extended appointment times, thus providing exceptional quality treatment. When needed, she will do home visits, workplace assessments and sport training sessions to enhance what is provided and learnt in the clinic. Outside of work, Edwina enjoys spending time with her family and staying fit to keep up with her dogs. She attributes her success to a strong work ethic from her parents and a supportive, loving husband and children.
